As Chief Operating Officer, reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, my role has a broad range of accountabilities to ensure professional services overall operates and delivers holistically across the University. This includes a focus on continuous improvement, service delivery & effectiveness and staff development and how we can bring together professional services colleagues to holistically support key initiatives and outcomes.

I have senior leadership accountability for various services including IT, HR, Organisational Development, Estates and Facilities, Catering and Health and Safety as well as taking a lead role in the University's sustainability strategy and delivery, development of farm and sustainability projects and various aspects of statutory and regulatory compliance. I chair the Extended Senior Leadership Team and co-chair the University's working group with the Students Union to ensure close working between the University and students. I also represent the University on various external committees and groups. 

My role also includes accountability for the translation of the University's strategy into operational delivery, developing the strategic delivery approach and embedding that across the University.

I have over 17 years experience in Higher Education in two Russell Group Universities having worked in roles as Director of HR, Deputy Registrar, Strategy Director and Registrar & Secretary. My professional background is in HR and change management with career experience also in manufacturing, management consultancy and local government and I continue to be a Fellow of the CIPD.
