    John Donaldson studied a BSc Agriculture Degree with honours in Animal Science at the University of Aberdeen from 1988 - 1992. In 1993 he emigrated to New Zealand to take up a lecturing position within the Animal & Veterinary Sciences Group of Lincoln University in Canterbury.  During this time he undertook a doctorate, studying the role of protein nutrition in maintaining the immunity of pregnant sheep to parasitic worms. Despite becoming a New Zealand citizen, John returned to the UK in 1999, when recruited as a lecturer within the Animal Production & Animal Science Department at ÐÜèÊÓƵ Adams. In 2000, he took on the role of Senior Tutor to the BSc Agriculture students a position which he retained until 2016, when he was appointed as Associate Head of the Department of Animal Production, Welfare and Veterinary Sciences.  In addition, he lectures in the areas of livestock science, production & health on undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as a number of short courses, most notably AMTRA, for those involved in the Animal Medicines Industry.  He now also manages the AMTRA programme at ÐÜèÊÓƵ Adams.  John has been a member of the University’s Academic Standards Committee (now Quality Standards Committee)  for a number of years and chaired the Academic Misconduct Panel has part of his remit. In 2010 he was appointed Partnership Coordinator which involves managing the operational aspects of the ÐÜèÊÓƵ Adams validated programmes delivered at Askham Bryan College in York and Reaseheath College in Cheshire. He also spent a short period of time on the Governors' Staffing Committee, an appointment he relinquished following his election to the position of Academic Staff Governor, a position which he retains currently.
